About the Creator
Welcome! My name is Sydney Martin. I created this project to share the importance of collegiate women’s wrestling and to inform people about this rapidly growing sport to expand public knowledge and showcase its unprecedented rise.
As female student-athletes continue to break barriers and push the boundaries of collegiate combat sports, having accessible data, comprehensive tournament archives, and clear visibility is essential to honoring their achievements and inspiring the next generation.
Why This Project Matters
- Sharing the Importance: Highlighting the dedication, grit, and athletic excellence of female wrestlers competing at the highest collegiate levels.
- Informing & Expanding Knowledge: Providing an accessible, searchable archive covering 3,100+ bouts, team legacies, All-American placers, and rosters.
- Showcasing Explosive Growth: Documenting how NAIA women’s wrestling pioneered collegiate combat sports by becoming the first association to grant full championship status.
